Sauna bathing and cold water immersion have many proven health benefits, however they may not be suitable for everyone.
You must not use the Sauna or Cold Plunge Tanks if you:
suffer from high or low blood pressure or any heart or circulatory disorder
suffer from epilepsy or diabetes
are pregnant
are prone to dizziness or fainting.
Bookings are only accepted at Seacoast Sauna on the understanding that all participants are fit and well enough to participate.
We are not medical professionals and cannot advise on any individuals suitability to participate in either sauna bathing or cold water immersion. However we advise all guests not to push themselves and take it easy. If in doubt, speak to your GP.
We do not currently accept any bookings for guests under the age of 16.
All guests using the sauna do so at their own risk.
Guests must practise safe sauna and cold plunge use at all times.
Guests are not permitted to bathe in our sauna or ice baths in the nude, appropriate swimwear must be worn throughout your session and whilst on site.
It is recommended that all metallic or hanging items of jewellery should be removed before sauna bathing to prevent the risk of burning. We recommend wearing swimsuits that do not have metal fastenings.
Seacoast Sauna takes no responsibility for items brought into the sauna or on site that may be lost or damaged. We don't not recommend bringing any electronic devices into the sauna.
Be considerate and respectful to other guests.
Guests must bring their own towel to sit on while in the sauna.
Please arrive hydrated and bring plenty of drinking water to consume during your sauna session.
Sandals or flip flops.
Seacoast Sauna takes no responsibility for any guests who choose to cool off in the sea, it is each individual's responsibility to ensure that the conditions are safe and that they are capable. There is no lifeguard present.
We recommend no more than 15 minutes at a time in the sauna, followed by cooling off.
If you choose to use the cold plunge pools to cool off then please rinse off before using them, we recommend no more than 5 minutes in the cold plunge, but a few seconds can still be beneficial. We do not recommend submerging your head in the plunge tanks, you can cool your head with the water provided for rinsing. You must not go in the plunge pool alone, please ensure a member of staff or member of your party is present.
Please listen to your body as individuals have varying tolerance to heat and cold and it's important not to push yourself, don't allow yourself to get overheated.
Repeating heat and cold cycles called contrast therapy can be beneficial but normally only 2 -3 cycles are recommended.
Seacoast Sauna reserves the right to refuse anyone considered to be a health and safety risk, anyone deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be refused entry.
No glass bottles are permitted in the sauna or plunge pools.
Seacoast Sauna operates a zero tolerance regarding anti-social behaviour. Anyone who is refused admission will not be entitled to a refund.
Only Seacoast Sauna staff are permitted to use, refuel or adjust the stove, guests are not permitted to touch the stove, please ask a member of staff if the stove needs adjusting.
Sauna Etiquette: All guests are kindly asked to:
Remove shoes before entering the sauna.
Wash feet in the water bath before entering the sauna.
Keep the sauna door closed.
Saunas are a place for relaxation, keep the chat quiet, don't disturb other guests.
Only use the sauna water provided on the stove, gradually pour a small amount of water onto the stones as this will greatly increase the heat experienced, be considerate to other guests.
Shower/hose off and wash feet before using the ice baths.
Ensure you are changed within your allocated time slot.
