We are an ethical and environmentally concientious company. Our eco sauna is off-grid, we use solar power for lights and pumps and the whole booking process is paperless. Our wood burner is super efficient, burning logs is considered carbon neutral as the wood you burn only releases as much CO2 as the tree adsorbed during it's lifespan.
We only use logs sourced from sustainable forestry and companies that are FSC approved or equivalent. It's important that logs are dry with less than 20% moisture content and when burnt in a modern efficient stove produce the least smoke and emissions. We always employ best practices to ensure clean burning.
We try and source most of our logs locally, keeping the carbon footprint of transportation down. By sourcing logs locally and buying in bulk, packaging is also kept to a minimum.
As a company we are environmentally concientious It's important that we use the right wood for a clean burn and to ensure sustainability. The wood has to be dry and sustainably sourced. We use local logs which means low carbon footprint in transporting. We used recycled briquettes made from waste sawdust. Recycled briquettes are super low emission clean burning with very low moisture content and have a high energy output giving a great sustainable sauna experience. We also use Eucalyptus logs, although these are imported for South Africa there is an ethical story behind their production. The eucalyptus tree has been grown there to produce oil, however it's spread as an invasive species and eucalyptus consume vasts amounts of water. Initiatives to remove these trees, protect the land and create local employment has given rise to a great source of hardwood logs which also give a beautiful aroma.
Our eco sauna was built in Wales, and we employ local people. It's always been important to us to give back to our local community. The sauna itself offers a fantastic facility for locals and visitors alike. Our sauna passes are a great cost effective way to reap the benefits of regular sauna use for members of our local community. We have been long-term supporters of the RNLI and a large proportion of our staff work as volunteers, we offer free use of our sauna for those amazing volunteers after their weekly training session.
Community connections are important to us at Seacoast Sauna and we hope to set up an over 50's sauna club offering the fantastic health benefits regular sauna use can promote.
