We strted in October 2024 after a trip to the Isle of Man and a chance visit to a beach sauna. After having fallen in love with sauna-ing we decided that Beaumaris would be a perfect location for one of our own.
As a team we’re made up of some locals and some ‘out-of-towners’ but we all call Anglesey and Beaumaris home so providing jobs and bringing local people together was an important part of our business model.
What started as a way of keeping some of our seasonal Seacoast Safaris staff employed and giving us something to do during the cold winter months when the boats stop running has become a year round operation!
The sauna itself started life down in South Wales with Barrel Sauna UK, making sure that our sauna was made here in Wales was always a priority. Our first location was a tiny patch of land on the way into Beaumaris over looking the Menai Strait and the mountains of Snowdonia / Eryri National Park. Our site consisted of the sauna, a couple of footbaths and a wind breaker. We then custom made our cold plunge tank along with all our beautiful decking. However it was always our intention to change location so in April 2025 we moved a few hundred yards to the beach on the opposite side, with an equally fantastic view and still a 30 second walk to the water at high tide but now with a full site with fencing, free parking, somewhere for our team to sit, lots more decking and seating AND a wood fired hot tub!
As with all our ventures we always strive to be environmentally conscientious as possible, we are totally off grid and we try and source most of our logs locally, keeping the carbon footprint of transportation down. By sourcing logs locally and buying in bulk, packaging is also kept to a minimum and we use recycled briquettes made from 'waste' sawdust. We also use Eucalyptus logs, although these are imported for South Africa there is an ethical story behind their production.
As well as our sauna being built in Wales we also employ local people, it's always been important to us to give back to our local community. We have been long-term supporters of the RNLI and a large proportion of our staff work as volunteers, we also offer free sessions for the crew!
We’ve now officially been operating for over a year and we are absolutely loving sauna life!

Hope loves the sauna, almost as much as she loves spotting the local wildlife, that's why we had to get such big windows in the office.

Sauna life suits Ele to a tee, we turned a scruffy little corner of the boat yard into Ele's perfect sanctuary, as you can see, she likes to keep it that way.

Sauna-ing is his new found passion, always ready to jump in himself after a shift, or whenever there's a free spot (if he's not working....).

Nad loves the sauna life, she just wishes she'd discovered it before her 40's.....

Youu might see Scott at the sauna from time to time, fixing anything that needs fixing, or maybe having a snooze in the office....

It's just Jake who you find at the sauna sometimes, Luna doesn't really work with us, although given the chance she'd make a good lifeguard.

Hayden loves the sauna, but he's more at home on the boats or back at the yard chopping the wood for the fire.

Our youngest team member, Ffion always brings smiles and a touch of glam to the sauna; she loves the sauna and swears by the benefits of sauns-ing after a workout.

A busy little sauna bee.
